What about the job in Miami? As with all Milton novels, suspense and action will keep you reading much longer then you intended. It's sat on my shelf for over a year, but finally I picked it up. His words too often didn’t flow naturally from one to the other, especially with female characters; the end sounds of words came to abrupt stops.The story provides much promise as it starts out: a man waking alone in a strange room with no memory. John’s plan is to infiltrate the cartel, arrange for the main British buyer to be removed from the picture, and set himself up to take over. Unfortunately, there are too many plot holes to sustain the premise that a person can easily disappear for almost a year without more repercussions than indicated.The story provides much promise as it starts out: a man waking alone in a strange room with no memory. Most of his take the reader on a journey that may have not been expecting and with that I believe comes a greater understanding that we share similar qualities with the characters he pens to life in his novels. Crazy thing is he doesn’t remember any part of the past months.Wow. "Stepping into the man he's always been? Loosely based on Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, I found the storyline written well. The different locations and situations are one of my favortie parts of this series but our hero has been to Mexico a lot. Milton, Ziggy, Hicks and Chase head to Amsterdam for some justice as that is where the distribution point is for the drugs and Milton isn’t settling for just getting the person responsible for the hit. He has to fight some other injustice and not only drug lords. He is so flawed yet you can't help but love him. It starts out simple enough, the US Ambassador in Bogota is assassinated by the cartel. But along the way there are some extreme enemies who hurt/kill Milton's friends and family...And the 'Old' Milton rises for Revenge! There were aspects about the book I didn't care too much for, but that was just personal preference. I read the first two sentences of that letter and immediately returned the book. I liked this book. Ewen Montagu, who masterminded the whole scheme, gives his personal account of the audacious and innovative plot to outwit the Germans by washing up a dead body on Spanish shores, complete with apparently confidential information concealed about his person.
