The Brotherhood of Satan

Brotherhood of Satan is fairly entertaining and really brdiges that gap between the 60s horror movie and what would come in the 70s very well.

A family is trapped in a desert town by a cult of senior-citizens who recruit the town's children to worship Satan. Characters are from a rural background and are played with backward and vapid mentalities. Actually, The Brotherhood of Satan is a slow-burning, rather oblique, incredibly dark and eerie slice of early-70's regional indie horror - as the film progressed I went from reluctant to even watch it, up through the gears of interest and tension until I had to admit I really loved it.

The pair return from the grave to seek vengeance. The camera flashes from the searchers struggling to open the door and the covern members being willingly slain. They are in a practically empty room, with the children, a table, dolls that resemble some of the black-cloaked coven members and a music box.

The fucked up ending was just the icing on the cake for me. Satanic Brotherhood, an idea whose time has come for our generation as it has in the past upon generation to generation.
