He dies in the process but has his healing ability restored and, after returning to life, eventually kills Shingen. Bobby looks at Kitty and Peter, and they both sign they're ready. This suggestion snaps Jean again, and she says she doesn't want to fix it, tossing Logan at the wall forcefully. The Danger Room returns to normal, as Logan compliments Peter on his throw. Logan looked around wondering where he was before his future self snapped back. Xavier explains that he had a terrible choice to make, and he chose the lesser of two evils. An officer tells him to drop the knives and put his hands in the air. Everyone in the area collapses and Logan rushes Xavier and Laura to the pickup and escape. All other people present stand up, and one walks to his memorial and puts a flower on it. Having had enough, Logan kicks the mutant is the groin and he finally falls down.

She shifts to Stryker, and then leaves. They understand Magneto's plan now completely, and they know Magneto is not aware of the fact that his machine kills. As Wolverine walks away, Stryker bellows after him that "One day! Bobby answers, a couple of years. They're calling it a "cure."
Logan quits Team X after Victor begins to kill innocent people.After a brief argument with Victor, Logan quits the team, saying he can't kill innocent people as he was disgusted by the murders committed by his teammates, Stryker's willingness to kill innocent civilians, and Victor's acceptance of this. Wolverine is still recovering from his injuries, when Lady Deathstryke suddenly jumps at him from below and stabs him again.

Wolverine says he's not leaving without Jean, but Magneto thinks otherwise – and uses his powers to send Logan flying far away.

He then says that Magneto's right – there is a war coming – and asks Storm if she is sure, she is on the right side. Suddenly, between all of the mess and the noise and the objects flying around, there is a moment of silent felt only by Jean and Xavier – as if time is moving in slow motion just for the two of them for a few seconds. Just before a piece of the reactor lands on Logan, Gambit saves him by breaking up the piece. As they get closer to each other they jump at one another, both hit.

Scott watches in misery and Logan orders Kurt to get her, but Kurt says she's not letting him.

Jean wants to know more about Stryker, and Magneto says that he's a military scientist who spent his whole life trying to solve "the mutant problem", and says that Wolverine has a more intimate perspective, as his adamantium skeleton was created by Stryker. Logan helps the family push their truck out of the ditch. Storm notices that Logan's gone.

In Logan, Laura, and Xavier help farmer Will Munson and his family after a traffic incident, accepting an offer of dinner at their home, where Logan drives off enforcers from a corporate farm. He generally prefers offense over defense. He eventually realizes that he was brought back to life by Persephone, who has used her ability to revive the dead to restore various people to act as her agents and complete certain key assignments to arrange for the construction of a complex satellite network.
