Robert De Niro plays the troubled racketeer and Billy Crystal is Ben Sobel, the psychiatrist with just a few days to turn Vitti into a happy, well-adjusted gangster in Analyze This, the drop-dead funny comedy from Caddyshack director Harold Ramis. Possibly my favourite film and wore out the VHS. Neither star goes the entire length of the movie without embarrassing moments, times when what they are doing must give them an itch of discomfort; probably few in the audience did not have the same problem, sequences which just weren't funny but had to be endured. This is a surprisingly good and enjoyable De Niro toned down gangster movie. This is a pretty funny gangster flick in which a mob boss (De Niro) decides that he needs to see a psychiatrist (Crystal) to deal with his anxiety attacks. A comedy about a psychiatrist whose number one patient is an insecure mob boss. Good movie. Directed by Harold Ramis.

Saw it was coming off Prime on June 30, so I watched it on the spur of the moment. I wouldn't resort to superlatives with regard to the film, but there are a sufficient number of amusing moments to make it worth watching. The audio with De Niro & Crystal didn't seem to be interactive (they weren't in the same room apparently), but it was informative. Looking at the menu I couldn't see how to disable that voiceover. There are a ton of terrible mafia comedies, but this one seems to be one of the better ones.

If you're gonna buy a mafia spoof flick, make it this one, though.

He and Billy Crystal have great chemistry on screen. classic deNiro. So far seen it 4 times. The "gag reel" (outtakes) is hilarious, but I wish it was longer. Some of our favourite actors and a good story, but the previous time we viewed it we had DSTV and could mute unsavory language, so we we didn't enjoy it as much as when we watched it the first time. it's a gift for Christmas. The italian could be better
