I can understand Don Henleys point of view.my opinion is that they heard the potential in Frank and 1) felt threatened by him and 2) saw an opportunity to make some money from him.to this day it still angers me because they didn't NEED to sue him, they could've just appreciated the beautiful song that he adapted from their beautiful song.If you are the Eagles, who created that work of art of a song years ago, and have lawyers for when someone steals your work, then you use it in any chance you get.I don't think it was anything against Frank as a person, but I could definitely see WHY they'd be upset. Also, this song samples Hotel California by the Eagles and in the original lyrics the singer exclaims that “you can never leave (Hotel California)”, and therefore Frank is suggesting matrimony is an eternal and longterm commitment where once you put a ring on it, your fate is sealed.
