The game is a port of the next-generation versions and includes many of the same environments, goals, characters, etc. This game is easily the coolest one (since the recent ones like THPS-5, & all the ones with the board peripheral are awful, save THPS-HD, which for some reason was removed from the PS-Store when 5 came out...) This game has photo realistic locations, mapped as true to like as the ones in THUG 1,& 2, American wasteland, etc., great controls, the ability to place skate-able items like ramps, 1/2 pipes, & rails in the levels (like SKATE games), good music, a nice player creator, & more going on then You can shake a skatedeck at. Tony Hawk's Proving Ground gets most of the Tony Hawk formula down, but the parts that stray from that formula are the parts that don't work out so well. After playing the game for a few days, my feelings were quite mixed. its a little funky.
Tony Hawk's Proving Ground released for the majority of platforms in an attempt to reestablish itself as the undisputed king of extreme sports. How? its been 8 years without a th game while skate 3 was highly praised (just play that one instead) and as much of a old th fan doesnt want to admit but its just dry now and isnt the same.
As I began playing I just wasnt into the skate physics anymore and the controls were just wierd. this mechanic is also annoying and a fail (im sure you can read other reviews on how stupid this mechanic is) you can feel that the series is just trying so hard to get on the level of the skate series of games but its just not there anymore. its just not all about that anymore. Disabling it will result in some disabled or missing features. I am a huge Tony Hawk fan.

Project 8 was not that good of a game bec... (+) good visuals, works when you put the game in the Wii.
