Edmond purchases Château d'If, intending to raze it, but instead leaves it standing as he swears to Faria to use his vast resources for good. A young thief, seeking revenge for the death of his brother, is trained by the once great, but aged Zorro, who also pursues vengeance of his own. The movie becomes much more enjoyable that way.
With Jim Caviezel, Guy Pearce, Christopher Adamson, JB Blanc. This was one of the better movies that i have seen in a long time. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. The count's manservant, Luis Guzman, steals every scene in which he appears, the woman the count loves is worth any sacrifice, and the main villain is tremendously villainous!

$11,376,150 A young man, falsely imprisoned by his jealous "friend", escapes and uses a hidden treasure to exact his revenge. It is NOT true to the book (as the producer explains), but in my mind, it makes far more sense and is way more romantic. When Robin and his Moorish companion come to England and the tyranny of the Sheriff of Nottingham, he decides to fight back as an outlaw. I absolutely loved him as Edmund Dantes then the dynamic Count of Monte Cristo and cannot have imagined a better choice. He was definitely not bad on the eyes either. The script is extremely sharp, and altogether this film is a triumph of escapology - and not just from the Chateau d'If!

A steady start to the film which unfolds continuesly keeping a good flow to the film. We can't get enough of Hollywood's LGBTQ+ powerhouse pairs, like Jay Wolpert (screenplay)
The cast is great. During the encounter, Mercédès is shot in the shoulder, but the wound is not fatal. An accidental cross-time radio link connects father and son across 30 years. Alexandre Dumas (novel), Feel good.
