I know the characters are struggling a bit in the movie, but it still has a sweet nature, while being very important. Santa's daughter must take over the family business when her father retires and her brother, who is supposed to inherit the Santa role, gets cold feet. I think the movie shows that whatever the child is expressing, they need to embrace it and that is what the show was all about. If not, why? Good subject, but just didn't learn much or feel much of a connection to the issue and especially to Jake who maybe occupied five minutes of an 89 minute movie. The depiction of his preK , its wonderful director and the struggle to find the best school for your child is very accurate and heartwarming.
