WENDY AND LUCY is a touching political road movie about an idealistic young drifter, her faithful dog and the wide-open spaces of the Pacific Northwest. Old Joy director Kelly Reichardt crafts this intimate tale of Wendy, an alienated Indiana woman who packs up her car and sets her sights on Alaska, but finds herself stranded in a small Oregon town with no money and only her faithful dog, Lucy, to keep her company. | The film stars Michelle Williams as Wendy, a homeless woman who searches for her lost dog, Lucy. An experimental film matching shifting colors with audio taken from an NPR radio interview with a mother who lost her son in the Iraq War. Cinemark Wendy and Lucy is a slow paced drama. In my opinion, this is the best that we have seen of Michelle Williams on screen.

The true triumph of this film is its ability to say so much about the cold, cruel reality of just how close some people are to breaking their banks and their hearts.

It's a real story, with real feeling and misfortune, real life. Reichardt brings out genuine emotion in a very touching story of a woman on the brink of survival.

Wendy, a near-penniless drifter, is traveling to Alaska in search of work, and her only companion is her dog, Lucy.
