I especially love reading her while Im on the eliptical machine at the gym. I would definitely recommend this book to friends. Joan knows her history and the losses Anna has suffered in her life. The doctors ask her if she will consider making Emily an organ donor- & although hesitant, she eventually agrees. Unexpectedly she stumbles upon the recipient of her daughter’s kidney when Olivia and Maddie arrive at Hannah’s hair salon. Sadly, the main male character Tyler was way too weak for me confidence wise and I wasn't at all attracted to him physically either.

And finally, Olivia, Maddie’s Mom who is trapped in an abusive marriage. [that not only has he left when she needed him, but he also hurt her kids feelings when they just began to love him like a dad. The story moves along fairly well, and keeps the reader wanting to know what happens next, but essentially it’s more soap opera than good fiction, and it failed to engage me very deeply, in spite of the important issues that it tackles, namely organ donation and domestic abuse. May not be the best time to write the review, but I'm too annoyed to care. I'm not sure if it was just boring or if I didn't connect to the story. The way the Amy portrayed the main characters in the book made you want to jump into the pages and hug them! It deals with some real issues of life and doesn't handle them in outrageously unrealistic solutions.A lot of unsettled, unresolved feelings in this book.
