Brian Hooks plays a character who is just released from jail. Bruce Hallerton becomes coach of the Panthers, a little league baseball team.

The inmates, male and female, are genuine victims of injustice, so our sympathy generally moves in one direction, appropriately. American Pastime reveals a portion of what life was like for the Japanese-Americans incarcerated in Relocation Camps. While everything else about Pastime is very good, it's all rooted in a mediocre screenplay.
